About Me

Sharing is Caring- Together We're Better!

I'm really looking forward to putting these words into action as we grow our learning community and provide our students opportunities for success!  This is my 5th year at Collins and it will be a year of tremendous growth!

I've been a resident of The Woodlands since 1988, and I have 36 years of experience using technology to engage learners- 26 years in Conroe ISD. I'm a Texas Longhorn forever, and earned my Master's at Sam Houston State. I've been a classroom teacher in grades 2 through 6, and taught all academic content areas, Gifted/Talented, and Inclusion classrooms.  I have a heart for helping teachers and students who need an extra dose of support while they discover the power of communicating and creating using Google's Workspace for Education tools and other digital tools. I believe educators thrive when we operate in communities of learning!

I am a certified Google Education Trainer, and believe that using Google Workspace creates an environment for collaboration, creativity, and engagement within classrooms, schools, entire districts, and into the world.  You can also find me at technology conferences learning from others and sharing my learning. I love to learn new tools so I can help teachers prepare students for college and beyond!

In addition to my responsibilities for Collins, I am a founding member of Techs4Tex, a foundation created to support all learners in digital instruction through training opportunities such as the Texas Google Summit and Country Girls Code.  Helping girls living in rural communities see career opportunities in the high tech industry is really important to me!  We also fund yearly grants to teachers showing a desire to implement fresh ideas using current best practices for instruction.

I love to spend free time hanging out with my dog, my family and friends, gardening, music adventures, visiting Houston spots, and reading.  I also head to North Carolina to visit my son, Andrew, his wife Justine, and their 2 girls, Dorothy and Edith!
